BEFORE USING YOUR
CAST IRON SKILLET

We would like to share some important information with you before you start using our products.

OUTER SURFACE

Our cast iron skillets are largely handmade, making each product unique. However, the rough surface of cast iron can be smoothed out to an optimum level using the molding and sandblasting technique we employ.

COOKING SURFACE

The inner surfaces of our skillets have been specially treated to provide maximum non-stickiness. While the smooth surface may turn wavy and develop a caramelized color with usage, this is completely normal and does not require any additional processing. As the oil layer on the surface thickens over time, the darkening will increase, which will actually improve the cooking performance and flavor of your food.

FIRST USE

When using our cast iron skillets for the first time, it's best to avoid cooking red or white meat, sausage, cheese, or eggs without oil. These foods, especially acidic ones, can damage the product's coating. Instead, we recommend using relatively oily foods or foods that will be fried in oil for the first cooking.

POINTS TO CONSIDER

Cast iron products reach high temperatures and retain heat, so avoid touching any part of the skillet, including the handle, with your bare hands during or after cooking.

Also, avoid sudden temperature changes as they can disrupt the structure of the product. Never pour water on a hot skillet, and avoid putting a hot skillet on a cold floor.

Finally, our cast iron skillets are heavy in nature, so be sure to hold them with both hands to avoid dropping them, which could damage the skillet as well as your floor or yourself.
